Martin Niemoller, imprisoned by the Nazis, used this quote in post-World War II speeches to urge solidarity against all forms of repression. The US Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC features the quote and sells the poster. Various colored triangles the Nazis used to identify “dangerous persons” are explained beneath the brick wall.
