The Palestinian people deserve freedom and self-determination like all other people. Since the beginning of the Zionist movement in the late 1800s, they have steadily lost more and more of their land. In 1948, with the Nakba and the founding of the State of Israel, Palestinian national hopes were dashed and over 750,000 people were driven from their homes. The dehumanizing and oppressive occupation of the West Bank and Gaza has lasted for over 55 years.

And now the people of Gaza are facing the most brutal assault of any people on the planet, with nearly 30,000 dead as of February 22, 2024. We mourn all the loss of life, particularly the civilians killed, and condemn all violations of international law. 

Unfortunately, as people living in the US, we are complicit through the massive military and diplomatic support supplied by the United States. Without this backing, Israel could not continue the onslaught. Please join efforts in your community to call for a permanent ceasefire, for a massive influx of humanitarian aid, and for active U.S. engagement to create a just, durable peace to allow Palestinians and Israelis to live in dignity.
