Jack Manno is an emeritus Professor of Environmental Studies, a poet, singer and an activist. He taught at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, Syracuse, NY for over 25 years. Jack has also worked for over 20 years with the Onondaga Nation as chair of an environmental technical advisory group assisting the Council of Chiefs and the Clan Mothers with issues of groundwater contamination, sustainable forest management, water supply, hazardous waste and other issues. He has been an active member of the Syracuse Peace Council since the Viet Nam War and more recently with Neighbors of the Onondaga Nation.

In addition to Blessings, Jack is the author of Arming the Heavens: The Hidden Military Agenda for Space, 1945 – 1995, Priviledged Goods: Commoditization and its Impact on Environment and Society and co-editor of Ending The Fossil Fuel Era.
