Organized by American Disabled for Accessible Public Transit (ADAPT), the goal of these activists was to pressure Greyhound into installing wheelchair lifts in their overland bus fleet. Actions like this, dramatizing discrimination in public transportation, were precursors to the eventual passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in 1990.
