Internships at Syracuse Cultural Workers
Internships at SCW are a great way to learn, connect with activist work and contribute to transformation of our troubled world. We regularly have interns working with us on social media marketing year round and an intern working with us on the Peace Calendar in the winter/spring semester. If you're interested in another kind of internship, please reach out to us.
We're looking for two interns for the winter/spring semester (both requiring a flexible 10 hours/week). Unfortunately the internships are unpaid at this point. The ideal candidates are people who pay close attention to progressive politics and social movements and has an eye for powerful graphics.
Peace Calendar Committee Intern– fully engage in the creative process of crafting the 2026 Peace Calendar – from idea brainstorming through finding images and putting all the pieces together. The intern works with the Peace Calendar Committee, meeting on a nearly weekly basis from mid January through April to create the calendar.
Social Media/Marketing Intern– work with our marketing team to craft and share posts, reels and other contents to engage with people across the country who might be interested in our peace and justice products. SCW currently posts on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, BlueSky and TikTok.
Qualifications
As a small business, we are looking for interns who are self-starters and highly movitated. Successful interns at SCW are fast learners and able to work independently as well as being part of a team. They need to have good judgement about when to move forward with a project and when to seek additional information or guidance.
