Assistant Director
Community Engagement, Marketing and Sales

Time:     Full-time – 35 hours per week                              Salary:  $18-$24/hour
Benefits:     Health insurance, paid vacation, holidays and personal days
Hours:      10 am - 5 pm, Mon - Fri, some flexibility, including limited remote work
Location:      400 Lodi Street, Syracuse, NY (near Northeast side of Syracuse)

OVERVIEW

For decades, SCW has created quality, beautiful, agitational artwork, imagery and products to support feminist and progressive movements. We are part of a national community of activists, organizers and artists, and pride ourselves on a collaborative work environment and commitment to a “long-haul” vision of social change work. We are in a period of growth as people rise against the threat of fascism. We are looking for a dynamic, creative person to join our leadership team to help us meet the political moment, and prepare for the future.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Community Engagement

  • Coordinate SCW presence at conferences and festivals: research, planning and staffing.
  • Expand on existing relationships with community organizations and build new ones
  • Expand our social media engagement with customers across the country

Marketing and  Sales

  • Work with SCW coordinator to plan and implement effective digital and print marketing campaigns
  • Participate in our Creative Team to develop new messages/slogans and product designs
  • Assist with development of new customers
  • Build on sales with existing wholesale accounts

REQUIREMENTS

  • Leadership skills and vision for creating social change, combined with grounded practical skills
  • Strong computer proficiency and ability to learn new software
  • Good people skills – in person, phone and online
  • Reliable, responsible and accountable
  • Accurate and detail-oriented
  • Flexible and able to multi-task effectively
  • Work well under pressure/deadlines
  • Able to act independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to social justice movements and intersectional understanding
  • Driver’s License, access to car, and ability to lift and carry packages are helpful
