The “Choose Choice” Story
On March 17, 2006 a federal appeals court allowed Tennessee to offer anti-abortion license plates with the message “Choose Life” (sic). The Court’s ruling overturned a lower Court which had said the message illegally promoted only one side of the debate. In 2002, abortion rights folks were unsuccessful in getting the TN legislature to create a “Choose Choice” license plate. Hence SCW’s new frame! In 2005, the US Supreme Court let stand a ruling that said South Carolina anti-choice license plates violated the First Amendment. More info: www.guerillawomentn.blogspot.com
