Eleanor Roosevelt (1884-1962) was an author, speaker, and champion of the dispossessed, particularly women and African Americans. The quotation is from her "My Day" newspaper column, February 6, 1946, written in Berlin, Germany about her visit to Frankfort and the Zeilsheim Jewish displaced-persons camp.
