• Bottled water corporations have depleted aquifers in rural areas.
• Plastic is an oil-derived product. It's imperative we reduce non-essential uses of oil.
• Pollution produced and energy used in making plastic.
• Energy used to transport finished product.
• Health: toxins leach into water from plastic, especially if bottles sit in high temperatures.
• Industry dominated by huge corporations like Nestle, Coke & Pepsi. Don't deserve support.
• Water bottles clog landfills.
• Municipal water systems in US are safe and usually good quality water.
• Much bottled water is simply tap water
• It identifies water as a commodity rather than a free, publicly available source of life. Capitalism attempts to commodify everything in order to make a profit on it.
