Dear friends:

On May 8, 1945, Nazi Germany surrendered, ending World War II in Europe. This was a critical defeat for the largest and most powerful fascist movement in history.
Over 50 million civilians were killed during the war (including some six million Jews, LGBT+ people, Roma, people with disabilities and others targeted by the Nazis), along with over 20 million soldiers. The end of the war closed a particularly dark chapter in modern history, but as is increasingly clear, did not mean the end of fascism.

Instead, Freedom is a Constant Struggle, which must be renewed by each generation to expand the rights of people targeted by those in power and seek to build a society based on human dignity, fairness and peace.

In Struggle,
