From September 18-27, 2015 the Onondaga Nation, Haudenosaunee Confederacy, hosted the World Indoor Lacrosse Championship. This was the first international sporting event ever held on sovereign indigenous lands. Twelve national teams travelled from Europe, Asia, Australia and North America to participate along with the host team, the Iroquois Nationals. This official commemorative poster was designed by Syracuse Cultural Workers in conjunction with the event organizers and Onondaga Faithkeeper Oren Lyons. The ancient lacrosse player is artwork created by Oren Lyons.
